We have been very busy with in-house stagings of the CWCC team course over the last few years, especially since the recent surge in “Resource Play” developments and all the related pitfalls presented in those applications. Inhouse stagings present very powerful cost savings to the host, allow for optimum timing for the convenience of all attending staff, and allow the program to be customized and focused on the specific asset setting(s) of the host asset teams. For specific week slot availability and pricing, please contact the lead instructor, Bob Knoll.
The following provides all the administrative details re booking, room set-up, student preparation, logistics of catering, course material printing, etc., that any host client would require in consider staging an inhouse version of the program for asset team and operational staff.
Class Size and Timing:
The minimum class size for the CWCC program is 12, the maximum is 21, in teams of three.
The make-up of the teams is arranged by the class instructor during the first morning session. Typical class times are as follows: Monday 8:00 A.M. till 5:00 P.M. with a working lunch; Tuesday-Thursday 7:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.; Friday 7:00 A.M. till 3:15 P.M. with a working lunch followed by a social event.
Note: Class times can be customized to the local working hours as required.
Facility Arrangements:
The host is responsible to provide all classroom facilities, A/V aids, coffee/lunch service for class, etc. The room must be arranged in a classroom setting, for teams of three, with break-out private areas for the team games and exercises. Often the host wants to stage the course in or adjacent the office, this is a common choice to save money, but presents some downside. We strongly recommend that you locate the course off-site from your day-to-day activities to insulate the class from the daily operational distractions that always arise, and give the program the best chance of providing maximum benefit to the students. This need only be a few blocks from the head office. In Calgary, we can offer our training room facility (including all AV aids) as a venue option, centrally located in the Hannover Tower, for a fixed daily fee of $575 plus GST.
Course Materials:
For the course materials, we will provide you with a master CD 3 weeks prior to start date with full printing/binding instructions for your internal reproduction & binding as necessary at a cost of $500 plus GST. Alternatively, we can reproduce, bind, deliver, etc., using our own sub-contractor, the class workbook and all hand-out material for a per-person fee of $115 plus GST, and shipping costs, as necessary.
Student Preparation:
We have a standard student registrant confirmation e-mail that is sent to each student to confirm the registration and provide info for attendee preparation (option to bring case study, recent field experience or well plan for class vetting; requirements for optional team laptop on days 2 and 3 only; lunch arrangements; class time; venue location, etc.). We will provide a generic copy for your edit, addition and internal distribution, as necessary, five weeks prior to start date.
Catering an Inhouse Staging:
The host is responsible for arranging all catering for the inhouse course. Normally this would include a cold working lunch on Monday and Friday only, with daily coffee/Danish morning service, and coffee/sweet afternoon service. If staged in our facility in Calgary, we can provide all catering service at cost, plus a 15% administration fee.
Team Prizes and Social Event:
We typically stage an informal social event after the course on Friday afternoon (schedule is designed to end the formal class around 3:00/ 3:30 P.M .on Friday). We often award customized “team” prizes to the winning 1 or 2 teams (high-end golf shirt/hat sets, with our unique “Joe Oil” logo). These are purchased each year for all our inhouse and open-industry stagings. We can include 1 or 2 sets of team prizes for your in house class(es) should you desire. The fee for the prize sets (team set of three) is $280 plus GST per team set.
